Wilwood’s Tandem Aluminum Master Cylinder is available in 2 bore sizes 1.00” and 1-1/8”; and 3 finishes, plain, ball burnished and black e-coat. 7/8” bore master cylinders are designed primarily for manual applications and include a pushrod. The 1” bore can be used in manual and power assisted applications and does not come with a pushrod. The 1-1/8” bore is designed for use primarily with power brake applications, either from vacuum assist or hydraulic assist systems. They’re designed for mount flanges from 3.22” to 3.40”, common measurements for most domestic cars and trucks from the mid 1960s to present, and offer fluid outlet ports on both sides of the bore. The stroke is set at 1.10” with a volume ratio of 2:1 between the primary and secondary chambers. Machined from high-pressure die castings, each master cylinder weighs only 3lbs, a 75% weight savings over most cast iron OE type master cylinders. We also offer a our combination proportioning valve kit, which includes brackets and stainless lines specifically for use with these master cylinders, see PN 260-13190, or 220-13189 for retrofit kit.

The Wilwood High Volume Tandem Master Cylinder (Part No. 260-8556) delivers reliable braking performance for a variety of automotive applications. Crafted from high-pressure die-cast aluminum, this master cylinder weighs only 3 pounds, offering a significant 75% weight reduction compared to traditional cast iron units, which enhances vehicle handling and reduces unsprung weight. Designed primarily for power brake systems, the 1 1/8 inch bore size is ideal for use with vacuum or hydraulic assist systems, providing consistent and responsive braking. Its fluid outlet ports are positioned on both sides of the bore for flexible installation options, and the cylinder features a stroke of 1.10 inches to ensure optimal brake pedal feel and travel. The mounting flange accommodates most domestic cars and trucks manufactured from the mid-1960s onward, with bolt hole spacing ranging from 3.22 to 3.40 inches. This durability is complemented by three finish options—plain, ball burnished, and black e-coat—allowing customization to match your vehicle’s aesthetic and corrosion resistance needs. The master cylinder is suitable for manual and power-assisted applications, with the 7/8 inch bore model designed for manual use, including a pushrod, and the 1 inch bore version also fitting manual setups but without a pushrod. When paired with Wilwood’s combination proportioning valve kit (PNs 260-13190 or 220-13189), it provides a comprehensive braking solution for enthusiasts seeking precise control and improved safety. This product is in stock and ready for installation, offering a robust upgrade for performance-oriented braking systems.
